Lake Zug: which chart and rules do boaters need?

The official Zug lakes nautical chart is a useful starting point for a boat trip on Lake Zug. It shows harbours, restricted areas and nautical information missing from an ordinary road map.

Load the chart before departure

  • The canton links to the digital chart and the “Zuger Seen” app. Check planned approaches and protected areas before departure, especially when visiting an unfamiliar shore.
  • Keep scheduled vessels’ routes and landing manoeuvres clear. They have priority, a long stopping distance and need much more room to berth than a leisure boat.

Arriving with a trailer

  • For a registered boat changing waters, complete the report and required cleaning first. Wait for launch clearance; washing the boat yourself does not replace certified cleaning.
