Lake Maggiore: when and where is waterskiing allowed?
Waterskiing is generally possible on Lake Maggiore. Ticino specifies 8 to 21, exceptionally 7 to 21 on Lake Maggiore in July and August. Daylight and good visibility are still required.
Not in these bays
- In Swiss waters, waterskiing and similar devices are prohibited in Locarno bay between the Maggia mouth and San Quirico in Minusio, and in Ascona bay between Punta San Michele and the Lido.
- Normally operate beyond the 300 m shore strip. A suitable observer must accompany the driver to watch the rider and tow.
Take care at the Brissago Islands
- There are rocks at the southern tip and shallow water between the two islands. Passing directly between them is not a shortcut to take without knowing the depths and passage.
