Are waterskiing and wakeboarding allowed on Lake Constance?
Yes. Waterskiing and wakeboarding are generally allowed on Lake Constance, in daylight and clear visibility only. The same rules cover wakesurfing on a boat’s wake.
The conditions
- These sports are prohibited in the 300 m shore zone, except in officially authorised launch corridors.
- Someone other than the skipper must watch the person in the water and any tow rope.
- Both boat and rider must stay at least 50 m from other craft and swimmers. Do not use elastic ropes or trail an unused rope. Tow no more than two people at once.
Lake Constance has its own rules
- Lake Constance has its own navigation regulations. The 8 to 21 time window on other Swiss lakes cannot simply be applied here. Protected areas and local closures still apply.
